Edinburgh Branch-Autumn Events

Our new session starts with the  Young Performers Concert at the Columcille Centre, 2 Newbattle Terrace, EH10 4RT, at 7pm on Wednesday 23rd August. This is always an excellent evening and we hope members will come along to support and encourage the talented young players taking part. If you would like to attend and or contribute some home baking, please let us know by replying to this email. There is no charge to attend.

The AGM takes place on Saturday 9th September  at Craiglockhart Church Hall, Craiglockhart Drive North, EH14 1HS. We have two guest tutors joining us, Patsy Seddon and Mary McMaster. More details,  including how to register for the event, either in person or via Zoom, together with the AGM papers are attached. Please note, the teaching sessions will start at 1.15pm with the hall being open from 12.30. There is no charge to attend.

On Saturday 23rd September we are taking part in European Folk Day (www.europeanfolkday.eu) Our event, an Afternoon with the Clarsach , will take place at St John’ s Colinton Mains Church, 223 Oxgangs Road North, EH13 9ED, 2-5pm.

We  invite Clarsach players, friends  and families to join us in an afternoon of traditional Scottish Music with parts to suit all levels of experience. Bring along other instruments and your voices. Let us know that you are coming, by emailing clarsoc.edin@gmail.com what instrument you play and we will send out some music in advance. After the music enjoy tea, home baking and chat with members, guests and visitors. There is no charge to attend.

Our annual day of music making with members of the Northumbrian Branch of The Clarsach Society takes place on Sunday 1st October , 10am – 4pm, at  Glen Douglas Community Hall, Jedburgh TD8 6PF. If you would like to join the fun, please let us know in the usual way, simply by replying to this email.  We organise car sharing so if you don’t have transport don’t let that be an obstacle.There is no charge to attend.
