Esme’s Adventure – A harp concert in memory of Esme Morris Macintyre
On Sunday 16 February 2014, a harp concert will be held in memory of Esme Morris Macintyre. Esme battled a brain tumor for nearly 7 years and her courage and determination to live life to the full, always with a beautiful smile, was an inspiration to thousands of people. She wrote a searingly honest account of the challenges she faced through her Facebook page and she worked tirelessly to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
She set out to make the most of her short life with a wish list of people to meet and things to do. She met sporting heroes Sir Chris Hoy and Andy Murray and singers Amy Macdonald and Emeli Sandi. She took part in fashion shows, went snow biking and hot air ballooning.
Also on Esme’s wish list was for harp tunes to be written for her and clarsach players from across Scotland have risen to this challenge. Esme herself played the clarsach so the concert will be a fitting tribute to the life of a remarkable teenager and will continue her legacy of raising funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
3pm, Sunday 16 February 2014 – Kinross Parish Church, KY13 8TG
