Dare to be a Teacher! Carlisle
Could you be a harp teacher?
Could you facilitate your local harp group?
Could you share your knowledge, experience and enjoyment in playing?
If the answer to any of these questions is ‘yes’, then come along to this FREE course hosted by the Transpennine, Northumbrian and Dumfries & Galloway Branches of The Clarsach Society.
In this course Charlotte Petersen will share her experience of teaching students of all ages and abilities, individually and in groups. She will share ideas on aspects of teaching and discuss how to use your individual knowledge and ability to help keen students in your area get started on playing our wonderful instrument.
Supported by the National Office of The Clarsach Society, this event is free and open to members of the Society only. It aims to expand on a similar course held at EIHF14 and so it will be of interest to anyone who attended this course as well as novice teachers and/or group leaders.

A Success Story! Report from Alicia Chapple, Argyll Branch.
When the new Appin Feis started up, my name was put forward for tutoring and I now regularly run full classes for 20 plus adults and children. In addition, I tutor adults from our branch on an individual and group basis. There has also been considerable interest from local schools and I am planning some taster sessions in the region shortly.
I would thoroughly recommend the Dare to be a Teacher course. It is an informative but informal course which provides helpful advice and support, setting you well on your way to take on the challenges of clarsach teaching!
